Given the global popularity of THE SAILOR PEN CO., LTD.’s fountain pens, we proposed a packaging solution made entirely from paper, incorporating Kami-air transparent paper to meet international environmental regulations and user expectations. This packaging was selected for its high recyclability, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the growing emphasis on sustainability. We are committed to supporting THE SAILOR PEN CO., LTD. in its environmental conservation efforts, including the ‘Forestationary’ project and this packaging initiative.This cushioning component consists of four upright sheets of cardboard that provide cushioning in the direction of the grain. To achieve high cushioning performance with minimal material, the design utilizes the most effective parts of the cardboard. Typically, multiple layers of cardboard can be too rigid for optimal cushioning. However, by corrugating the edges and arranging them in a staggered pattern, we have reduced overlapping areas, making the material easier to compress. This design enables the component to gently absorb the initial load, with the overlapped areas offering firmer cushioning thereafter. This is easy to assemble, requiring no complex procedures—simply fold and snap it into the holes of the mount. Its versatility allows for a range of applications, including various positions, materials, and sizes, and its simple design will facilitate automation in assembly.日本貿易振興機構（ジェトロ）理事長賞『セーラー万年筆 ふでDEまんねん』セーラー万年筆㈱㈱イムラ【万年筆を魅せる紙パッケージ】パッケージ内の万年筆が見えるよう、前面に特殊な透明加工（紙エール加工）が施されたリサイクル可能な紙のパッケージ。セーラー万年筆様の万年筆は海外でも人気である為、海外の環境法規とユーザー様のニーズへも対応できるよう、単一紙素材である透明加工（紙エール加工）を施した製品をご提案し、リサイクル適性も高いという点からSDGsとサスティナブルな時代に合った新たな紙パッケージとして採用となった。「フォレステーショナリー」プロジェクトなどの環境保全活動を積極的に行われているセーラー万年筆様を本件パッケージ含めこれからもサポートさせていただく。
