Interchange of Experience
1. Cooperation with overseas organizations
It is one of JPI's large features of charm that interactions between its member enterprises regardless of their country and business category are allowed to be attained based on the viewpoint of "No border for packaging". JPI has thus been making a great deal of contribution to the progress of packaging technique.
Currently, JPI is under cooperation with WPO(World Packaging Organization), APF(Asian Packaging Federation), EPF(European Packaging Federation) and LAPF(Latin American Packaging Federation). Both WPO and APF have been established by the inductive care of JPI. Since their establishment, WPO and APF have been holding a close relation with JPI with continued exchange of information.2. Sending of special observation groups on packaging to overseas
Since its establishment, JPI continues to send special observation groups on packaging to foreign countries every year and this has been achieving a great deal of fruitful results.
More particularly, JPI sends packaging observation groups to overseas a couple of times each year for the purpose of activating the exchange of experience in packaging circumstances, information collection, etc. with world enterprises related to packaging.3. Acceptance of technical trainees and observation groups on packaging from overseas
JPI has been promoting the interchange of packaging technique and production with world enterprises by accepting technical trainees and observation groups on packaging from overseas.
4. Holding of All-Japan Packaging Technique Study Convention
This is the annual convention for presentation of case studies on the improvement of results for a certain selected themes. Since the establishment of JPI, this convention has been held every year in major cities of Japan(Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo and Sendai). Every year, some 120 persons are selected from among JPI members and they make presentations respectively. The number of participants in this convention is 600`800. Through presentation of case studies based on research, development and improvement made by these 120 speakers in their routine packaging experiences, this annual convention has been achieving a lot of fruitful results in the training on packaging and improvement of packaging technique as well as enhancing friendship among those in the packaging world.
5. Holding of Japan Packaging Contest and Good Packaging Exhibition
These events have been held every year for the purpose of development and spread of the excellent packaging technique. The best package that has been granted the Japan Star Prize is entitled to participate in the Asian Star Contest as well as the World Star Contest. Other than the Japan Star Prize, special prizes are given to such packages that are excellent in form, technique, design, idea or condition of packaging distribution(P.D.).
Packages that have acquired above prizes are entitled to have the"GP(Good Package)"marking on them.
Packages that have participated in the above contest are displayed at the Good Package Exhibition to be held in the fairground of Tokyo Pack and other events.6. Kinoshita Prize
This prize is to be given to such JPI members who have made remarkable achievement in the fields of (A) Research and Development (Research and development of packaging technique) and (B) Improvement and Rationalization (Ration-alization and improvement of packages).
